Where we all shine

Christian Values

Our value for the Spring Half Term 2 is...

Forgiveness

As a growing Church of England Academy, we are proud of the Christian values at the heart of all we do.  We endeavour to educate the whole child and alongside academic study, we aim to ensure that we support our children's spiritual, moral and social development.

At St. Augustine's Academy we follow the 'Roots and Fruits' collective worship resource in Year 1 - 6.  This provides a 2 year programme of creative collective worship rooting Christian values in stories from the Bible and the seasons of the Church calendar.  The core values that are central to the programme can be seen in the image below.

In Early Years, the 'Jack in the Box' Collective Resource is followed.

Our values are considered in depth during collective worship and embedded in all aspects of school life. This aspect of education gives children the language to express themselves. It supports and encourages us to celebrate success, promote high self-esteem and support reflection. This approach is successful because our whole school team are committed to weaving the values into their school day.

We encourage you to promote and discuss our current value outside of school; you may also find that the prayers and bible verses below will help you.

I Said A Prayer For You Today

I said a prayer for you today and I know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart although He spoke no word.
I didn’t ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn’t mind,
I asked Him to send you treasures of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He’d be near you at the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings and friends to share the way.
I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care I asked for most of all.

'The St. Augustine's Way ' shows how values underpin the Behaviour Policy at our school.
